Shadow
A piece that invites human interaction with the spotlight to reveal a reversal of the notion of what a gallery-lit object should look like. The shadow becomes the light when the surrounding light falls to shadow.
The installation plays with the limitation of human sensory ability: that we can distinguish relative contrast but not an absolute measure of brightness. Ideally viewers come to think about the mechanics of the piece, and, in turn, take note of their own perception.
